The purpose with this website, is for me to practice. I’ve had interest in web design and web development since I got my first computer in 1999. But as often happens, life took another turn and I focused on other things, I took completely different path in my studies. So here I am, more than 20 years later, re-focusing on an old hobby.
It was few years ago that I decided to revisit this world. First step in was scary to say the least! Things have changed since Frontpage (a software I used back in the day to create my websites), they have changed a lot! So I just crawled back into my shell and pretended I was way to old for this. But when the “want” keeps banging at your door, you really need to listen – no matter your age.
So here I am, spending all my free time watching Udemy videos and just trying to start somewhere. As can be seen from this first version of my personal “portfolio”, I am starting at the very beginning, and I will try to catch up to everything that has happened in the web development world since 1999!
There is so much that I want to be able to do. I want to be able to design visually pleasing websites with focus on good UX design. So I obviously need to learn UI/UX. I want to be able to master JavaScript – for what, I don’t know yet, but the language interests me. I want to be able to create WordPress designs. I want to learn Python. I want to learn how to work with databases. I want to be able to program apps. I would like to learn a language like JAVA as well and try to create mini-software.
And so much more! So my journey will be a long on. But I thought if I set up a simple website, with a simple blog – I have a least starting point, and I can go from here.
